We Won Visualizing London 2011

I recently competed in a Hackathon hosted by Google and General Electric to visualize sentiment data about the London 2012 Olympic games.

Over a 24 hour period, myself and a small team from Imperial created an interactive interface for analysing the sentiment data, filterable over several demographics and using different visualisation techniques.

Well, we won! iPads and glory for the whole team, good job guys.

Technology:

  • Sinatra/Ruby backend for data processing
  • D3.js for the visualization graphics
  • jQuery UI for the control interfaces
